Wilderness Systems had a little fun with the industry-changing “concept” line introduced in 2008. (Okay, they had a lot of fun.) The mantra for developing the line was, “complement the ultimate in function with the ultimate in style.” With that mandate, Wilderness Systems is yet again seeing how far they can take boat design, materials and luxury in the pursuit of a seaworthy craft. Introducing the Commander 120cx Limited Edition, the Wilderness Systems concept boat for spring 2010.

For those who desire that their style does not come at the expense of substance, Wilderness Systems proudly offers the new Commander 120cx Limited Edition, based on the same hull and deck design of the brand new Commander 120 fishing kayak. The comfort is unparalleled. The form is pure function. And the materials were, up until now, unheard of in a kayak.

The multi-layered hull of the Commander 120cx Limited is infused with Innegra S®, the lightest, high performance fiber available. This ballistic grade material is used in the most demanding of applications, from body armor to Formula One racecars; and now it finds a home on the water. This translates into an extremely stiff and lightweight hull, which offers maximum responsiveness on the water.

To achieve the style mandate, nearly every detail of the production model Commander 120 has been overhauled with premium trim materials. On the canvas of the glossy, black composite layup, picture richly stained, hardwood rails along the top rim of the boat, complemented by stained, hardwood carry candles on the bow and stern. Sleek, silver/gray Commander 120cx logos on the stern and accessory bags announce the boat without being ostentatious.

The Commander 120cx is engineered with the finest materials, aesthetics and performance. Yet, we maintain that the key element to this boat is intuition. You’ll find it in the details that give the boat 360-degree comfort and the unlimited rigging options offered with the SlideTrax accessory system. The Commander 120cx arrives fully featured, with all of the accessories and outfitting needed to hit the water immediately, from customized bow and stern storage covers to a complete Angler package, with rod holders and an anchor trolley.

Only 25 Commander 120cx Limited Edition kayaks will be available worldwide. Each will be handcrafted and individually numbered.
