Mad River Canoe launches two new extensions of some of our most popular series for 2009/2010 with the Explorer LT and the Explorer 15 Duckhunter Edition!

Both models will be available August 2009.

Explorer 15 Duckhunter Edition

There is no mistaking the classic look and lines of Mad River’s Duck Hunter Canoe. Its olive drab hull, cane seats and slotted wood gunwales harken back to a simpler, more elegant era. The new Duck Hunter 15 is an exact match of the original, yet at 14’ 9” and 63 pounds, it’s about 14” shorter and about 10 pounds lighter. Ideal for sportsmen navigating the twisty marshes by the coast or for any paddler who appreciates its timeless design.

Explorer LT 16

Mad River’s iconic Explorer Canoe has shed a few pounds for the Explorer LT. A lighter sheet design and aluminum gunwales help to bring this boat in at a svelte 65 pounds. The lighter weight makes the LT easier to handle, load and unload, while its Royalex® hull provides plenty of care-free durability for mild to moderate waters. Plus, the LT’s enhanced stiffness offers enhanced paddling efficiency, which makes it a great boat for family outings and long trips.
